Products and specifications

Whole white kernels W180, W240 and W320, vacuum packed in 22.68 kg bags. Raw cashew nuts to contractual specifications.

Grades and sizes

Size sets the price. The larger the kernel, the more sought after the grade on international markets.

Extra-large kernels

The most sought-after grade. Largest kernels, highest prices on international markets. Volumes are naturally limited.

Size and count

Fewer nuts per kilo, more value

Count is the indicator that sets the grade and the price. A W180 runs around 385 kernels per kilogram, a W320 nearly double that.

Typical specifications

Indicative ranges. Exact specifications are confirmed by contract and by lot.

Typical specifications — Indicative ranges. Exact specifications are confirmed by contract and by lot.
Parameter Typical range Why this parameter matters
Outturn (KOR) 46 - 52 lbs / 80 kg Kernel Outturn Ratio: kernel weight obtained per 80 kg bag of raw nuts. Directly determines lot value.
Nut count 180 - 220 nuts / kg A lower count means larger nuts, therefore larger kernels.
Moisture 10% or below Checked at intake and before stuffing. Above this level, mould risk in container becomes critical.
Defective and spotted 12% or below Immature, germinated or damaged nuts, removed during sorting.
Foreign matter 1% or below Stones, plant debris, dust.
Packing Jute bags, approx. 80 kg Export standard. Lot marking applied to every bag.

Exact specifications are confirmed by contract and by lot, based on tests carried out before shipment.

Contractual thresholds

The four figures that commit a lot

These thresholds are contractual and verified before shipment. The coloured arc shows the tolerated margin.

  • 46 – 52 lbs / 80 kg

    KOR yield

Kernel mass obtained per 80 kg bag. Determines the lot value.

  • ≤ 10 %

    Moisture

Beyond this, container mould risk becomes critical.

  • ≤ 12 %

    Defective and stained

Immature, sprouted or damaged nuts, removed at sorting.

  • ≤ 1 %

    Foreign matter

    Stones, plant debris, dust.
